Chiropractic Adjustments

The chiropractic adjustment is what chiropractic is all about. The chiropractic adjustment is done by hand, using touch in palpation for boney relations and heat differences. A true chiropractic adjustment is done only by hand. There are no machines or computers today that can replace the chiropractor’s hands.

Examination and X-ray

It is of grand importance to determine where the problem is in the spine. Examination and usually x-rays are necessary to locate the vertebral displacements, along with knowledge of the chiropractic philosophy and understanding of a vertebral subluxation.

Note: A competent doctor of chiropractic will always do an initial exam, and x-rays when indicated.

Pattern Analysis and Spectral Analysis of Paraspinal EMG

Surface electromyography (SEMG), also known as surface scanning EMG, measures electrical current of a group of muscles. Your muscles are controlled by nerves. The SEMG reads the amount of electric current in a group of muscles to determine how well your motor nerves are functioning. Paraspinal surface EMG is a technique that uses SEMG to evaluate abnormal patterns of electrical activity in the paraspinal muscles, which support and provide motor movement for the spine. Subluxations (misalignments in the spine) disturb the nerve function and cause an abnormal amount of electrical current to flow to your muscles. These are indicated by colors or abnormal patterns in the scan. Spinoscopy is a technology that combines the use of SEMG and video recordings in an integrated computer system.
